MRS EDITH ELIZABETH MILLER, aged 85, Smithsburg Rt 2, wife of Chauncey C Miller, died Sunday at 2:30 pm at the Washington county Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past 6 months, and was taken critically ill last Sunday. She was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday and had undergone surgery on Friday.

Born in Edgemont, Md, she was the daughter of Abram and Alice E (Stouffer) Weddle.

She had lived her entire life in the Smithsburg Rt 2 area. She was a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church, Greensburg.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, J A Bachtell, Smithsburg Rt 2; another son, Lloyd Miller, Waynesboro; daughters, Mrs Clarence Frey and Mrs Elder Reynolds, both of Smithsburg Rt 2; Mrs Fred Miller, Smithsburg Rt 1; and Mrs Parvin Stottlemyer, Sabillasville; 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs David Ridenour, Smithsburg Rt 2.

Services on Wednesday at 2 pm at Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro, pa conducted by the Rev Glenn Heckman. Interment in Welty's Cemetery.
