Nancy L. Daugherty, 88, of Greenfield, died Monday, Aug. 8, 2016 at her home.

She was born on July 23, 1928 in Highland County.

She was the daughter of the late Fred and Grace Redkey Mercer.

In 1948, she married Edward A. Daugherty, who preceded her in death on April 14, 1993.

Nancy was a 1946 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School. She worked at the U.S. Shoe Corporation for 13 years and then later returned with Ed, and together they ran the cafeteria for five years. Nancy was a longtime member of The First United Methodist Church in Greenfield and was a member of the Greenfield Area Hospital Auxiliary and managed their rummage sale.

Nancy is survived by one son, of Big Rapid, Mich.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two sisters.

She was preceded in death by one daughter; Cindy Rison; three sisters, Ruth, Virginia and Louise; and three brothers; Alva, Pete and Jack.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016 in the Anderson-Ebright Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery. Friends may visit with Nancy’s family at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church of Greenfield and can be mailed to 405 South Street, Greenfield, Ohio 45123.
