Frederick was the son of Seth and Eunice Blakeslee Bishop. He married Flora I Whiting on March 31, 1882 at Central City, Iowa. She was born March 5, 1861 at Preston, MN. Frederick was a farmer and also an inventor. He built a telephone between his house and barn in 1884. He soon had lines to the neighbors and expanded to Central City. From then on he was in the telephone business. They had 2 daughters: Hazel Lula who married Orton E Butters and Ella Elaine who married Clayton Toms. Flora died Jan 31, 1959 at Central City.
