Jessie Morgan, the daughter of William Morgan and Isabella Caroline Means, was born 22 Sept 1861, Midland, Rutherford County, TN and died 10 Nov 1946, Nashville, TN. Jessie was married to George Reuben Stephens, born 1861 in Kellertown, Bedford County, TN.

Their children were
Robert Francis Stephens born 1885
James Morgan Stephens 1886-1907
Emma Vance Stephens born 1888
Harriet Hutchens Stephens 1889-1964
Kathryne Belle Stephens 1891-1960
Georgie Rubin Stephens 1893-1911

In the 1890s Jessie and George moved their family of five children to Arkansas. While establishing a homestead, George was killed when a well he was digging collapsed on him. Georgie, the youngest child, was born in Texas, perhaps about the same time as her father died. Jessie Morgan Stephens brought her children back to the Morgan home in Tennessee, where her brother, John W. (Jack) Morgan, helped her to raise the family.

Robert Francis (Frank) Morgan went back to Arkansas where he married and was the father of a daughter, Verna Stephens. Verna married in California and left several children in the Los Angeles area.

Morgan Stephens was killed while working for the railroad in Tennessee.

Emma Stephens married Mr. Flora and was living in Memphis in the 1980s when she said, at 90+ years, she “took care of old people.” She had no children.

Harriet Hutchens (Hattie) Morgan married William W. Wyatt and lived in Nashville, where she has many descendants.

Kate Stephens married Mr. DeHart and had a daughter, last contacted in New Jersey.

Jessie Morgan Stephens left the family farm after her brother Jack died in 1934 and went to live in Nashville, where her daughter Hattie Wyatt was located, and there she died in 1946.
