Annie May was a homemaker. Her husband, Warren, was a day laborer who worked various jobs. They apparently moved frequently between states in search of work. Annie and Warren are known to have lived in Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Annie and Warren were the parents of five children:
Henry Leslie "Leslie" Richardson; born 1914 Howe, Leflore County, Oklahoma
Thomas May Richardson; born 1916 in Wickes, Polk County, Arkansas (See notes)
Martha Agnes "Agnes" Richardson Jewell; born 1918 in Limestone Co., Alabama
Ruby Estle Richardson Spencer; born 1920 Lockesburg, Sevier County, Arkansas
Floyd Lee Richardson; born 1922 in Wickes, Polk, County, Arkansas
Notes:
Annie May's birthday information came from her death certificate. There are some inconsistencies with the birth year on other documents. Her age is listed as 24 years old in the 1920 census for Sevier County, Arkansas. Her age is listed as 56 years on her daughter, Ruby's, delayed birth certificate signed, dated, and notarized February 12, 1953. Her actual birth year may have been in or around 1897. I'm leaving the death certificate date at this time because it is an official document and I don't have another source of information with a listed date.
The spelling of Annie May's name differs on various documents. It appears on various documents as Annie/Anna May/Mai/Mae. The family called her 'Anna May'.
Son, Thomas Richardson, is said to have been born in LeFlore County, Oklahoma according to his FindAGrave memorial. The 1920 US Census Records for Sevier County, Arkansas and 1940 US Census Records for Polk County, Arkansas show him to have been born in Arkansas. He also has a draft registration card that shows him to have been born August 15, 1917 which differs from 1916. According to his bond for marriage license, he was 25 years old on December 30, 1941 he married Cora Marie Adams in Grannis, Polk County, Arkansas. The year of 1917 is possibly in error on the draft card.
According to daughter, Ruby Richardson Spencer, Annie May's house in Oklahoma burned to to the ground in the 1950's. The family bible and other documents were destroyed in the fire.
