He was born February 25, 1932 in Murray to Jack and Hilma Dahlquist Pierson.
He graduated from Murray High School in 1950. Jim was the photographer for the Murray High School yearbook, taking pictures of the Clubs and Social events. He served in the Korean War as a photographer for the CID, Fort Lewis, Washington.
Jim married Gay Lou Capps Pierson on October 16, 1953.
Worked for Quality Press for twenty years and retired from the Newspaper Agency in 1993.
Survived by his wife, daughter, Janene L. (Wade) Williams; two granddaughters, Natalie (Mark) Stone and Cassandra (Jimmy) Westonskow; five great-grandchildren, and cousin, Darlene Hayes. Preceded in death by his daughter, Christina Stevenson.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Murray City Cemetery.
