Her Nick name was "Nellie" Boughan. She Married her next-door Clooncona neighbor, Lawrence Mitchell, in 1834. There is an Ellen Mitchell who died 1884, in Clancah or Clamcah. Grandson, Patrick Mitchell, immigrated 1884 or 85, to Louisville to reunite with his mother and siblings. I'm assuming (hypothesis) that he stayed behind in Ireland to be with his paternal grandmother, but then immediately immigrated after his grandmother died (circa 1884?). This is just hypothesis. The local Boughan Family seat was in the neighboring town of Tynagh. ~~~ In 2000 Mr Paddy Rally, who was a descendent of the Boughans, and still living in the old Boughan cottage, told me that "a Lawrence Mitchell had married a Nellie Boughan," and this was in 1834! So after some 165 years this was still oral family tradition. He had remembered this information being passed to him when young, all the way down to him and his extended Boughan family. I remember how he rode a bicycle everywhere, and he liked spending time at those establishments that served the libations. ~~ According to the old church registry, the surname of Boughan was always spelt Boughan (at least during those olden days) and never Bohan.
