Anna Mae Hunter was born May 5, 1900 in Indian Territory in what is now Jackson County, Oklahoma; the last of nine children born to the farm family of William L. Hunter (1847-1930) and Elizabeth Fannie (Boardman) Hunter(1853-1924). The family moved from Texas around 1893 to Indian Territory to what is now Jackson County, Oklahoma near Altus, Oklahoma. She married Jack Jay Ball (1895-1990) on November 15, 1919 in Caddo County, Oklahoma. They moved to Hobart, Kiowa County, Oklahoma where they farmed and raised two children. They shared 71 years of marriage before Jay's passing in 1990. Anna Mae (Hunter) Ball lived 106 years and seven months.
