A former Fairbury, NE resident Mrs. Ada "Jessie" Laswell, 61, of San Diego, CA died Wednesday Feb. 13, 1980.
Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Reid, born April 13, 1918, in Grainfield, Kansas and graduated from Fairbury High School in 1936.
She worked for the Telephone Company while there and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Fairbury.
On November 7, 1942, she married William E Laswell who preceded her in death along with her parents and one sister.
She was a long-time resident of Colorado Springs, CO working for FW Woolworth. She also sewed retail clothing for Barbie and Ken dolls.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Head of San Diego, CA and son Larry Laswell (Peggy) of Kent, WA: 3 sisters, Celia Essman of Swanton, NE, Beulah Busing of Beatrice NE, June Bergstedt of San Diego, CA; 3 brothers, James Reid of Walnut Grove, MO, William Reid of El Cajon, CA, and George Reid of Omaha, NE and 2 Grandsons, Jeffery Head of San Diego, CA and Cary Laswell of Kent, WA.
Funeral services were at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, La Mesa, CA and burial at Hillcrest Burial Park, Kent, WA.
