James Ralph Larkin, 88, Minneola, & former Avon Park resident passed away November 26, 2013. He was born September 20, 1925 in Rockland, Maine son of Anna Gammon & Fenwick Larkin. He was employed originally as a lobster boat engineer in Gloucester, MA and then at Pratt & Whitney in Middleton, CT in the experimental test division before retiring & moving to Florida in the early ''90'. Surviving are his children James R. Larkin, Jr. (Kim), Cascade, WI; Mike P. Larkin (Robin), Lowell, MA; Terry W. Larkin (Vicky) Greensboro, NC; Lori LaSalle (Alvin), Windhaven, CT & Timothy D. Larkin, PA; step-children Judy Walker, St. Pete; Kara McCue (Rob), Minneola & Lee Walker (Tammy), Baton Rouge, LA & many, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his wives Lucille M. Larkin & Jennie Lee Tomlinson Larkin & grandson William. The funeral service for Mr. Larkin will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 29, 2013 at the graveside in Empire Cemetery in Groveland. Geoffrey Yong, Chaplain, Cornerstone Hospice will officiate.
