Born February 20, 1935, at Hampton, Arkansas, she was a daughter of the late Troy Calaway and Edna Hopkins Calaway.
As a homemaker and member of Pleasant Home Missionary Baptist Church, Mrs. Childers life was consumed with loving and caring for others. She enjoyed cooking for her family, and especially enjoyed everyone together for the holidays.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Childers was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Marvin Childers; sons, Stanley and Danny Childers; siblings, Troy Calaway, Jr., Virginia McCarver, Eula Mae Beliles, and Opal Calaway; and son-in-law, Robert Nordin.
She is survived by her daughters, Dianne Nordin, Marvlyn Underwood and husband Jon, Dana Flumm and Tammie Appleberry; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 11th, 10:00 a.m. at Pleasant Home Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Gerald Wingard officiating.
Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 10th from 5-7 p.m. at Fuller Hale South Funeral Services.
