August 8, 2016 brought a magnificently well-lived life to a close for Helen Leona Crossland. She was born April 5, 1945 in Webber Falls, OK to Ellis Edward and Helen Louise Cauthon. During her life, Leona worked as a cosmetologist and was co-owner of a candle company that she ran with her close friend, Jan. She was also an exceptionally gifted artist who loved to paint and always impressed others with her extraordinary needlework. Leona adored spending time with her grandchildren, from teaching Megan crafts to having swordfights with Michael, they were the light of her life.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Darrell Crossland; and sister, Nora Mae Shannon. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, son, Michael Childress and wife Amber; grandchildren, Megan Ralene Childress and Michael Preston Childress; brother, Ellis Dwane Cauthon; sisters, Rinda Arlene Cauthon and Kathy Louise Aulman; brother in law, Bryon Ray Shannon; nieces, Lora and Megan Shannon; close friend, Jan Dillon; and her beloved cat, Elmo.
