Miss Elsa Brase
Miss Elsa B. Brase, 67 years old, of Richmond Heights, died Tuesday afternoon in a St. Louis hospital. She was born May 18, 1802, at Jackson.
Miss Brase was educated in the Jackson R-II schools and was a graduate of State College in Cape Girardeau. She first taught at Charleston, and in 1928, moved to St. Louis where she taught in the Maplewood-Richmond Heights district until June, 1967.
Her teaching field was business education, and Miss Brase had held office in the Community Teachers Association, St. Louis District; she was a member of the state committee for setting up guidelines for teaching business, and had been past president of St. Louis Area Business Educators Association.
A member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, University City, she had been chosen a member of the Session in 1966, and had served three years. She had been secretary and president of the Business and Professional Women's Club of her church, and was superintendent of the church school at the time of her death.
Survivors include three brothers, John Brase, Festus, A. C. Brase and E. F. Brase, both of Cape Girardeau, and two sisters, Mrs. A. C. Lange, St. Louis, and Mrs. Charles Dreyer, Festus.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 Friday afternoon at the Lupton Funeral Home in St. Louis. The body will then be taken to Ford and Sons Funeral Home, here, where friends may call after 7 Friday night. Funeral services will be conducted at Ford and Sons Funeral Home at 2 Saturday afternoon, with the Rev. Charles Dreyer of St. Louis, a nephew, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
