Bertha Florence Windsor was born in Cross Roads, Indiana, on January 3, 1873, and died May 12, 1942. She was married to Fred Ostrom in Lincoln, Kansas, on October 31, 1891. Ten children were born to this union: Everett Leland (Isabell), Arthur D (Blanche), Fred Jr (Emma), Albert Gordon (Dorothy), Lovisa (Walter) Malone, Avis Daisy (Otis Burrel Stevens and Lawrence Nelson), Harriet (Marion) Horner, Lieuella (Olan) Horner, Verna Fae (Charlie Welch and Odis Snodgrass), and Sebudah, who died in infancy on December 25, 1912. Her husband died March 20, 1928. She is survived by 15 grandchildren and sisters, Mrs P D Cook, Mrs Stella Tracy, and Mrs Hattie Ostander; many nieces and nephews. Mrs Ostrom came to Ellsworth County with her father, Z Windsor, when only seven years old, and spent most of her remaining life in this area. Funeral services were held at the Christian Church in Carneiro on May 17, and burial was made in Carneiro Cemetery. From The Echo of Brookville, Kansas 06 Jun 1942
