Chas. (Chuck) A. Bailey passed away Sunday at 10 p. m. at the home of his daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stutesman. Services were held Wednesday at 2 p. m. at the Methodist Church. Rev Herbert Phillips officiated. Burial was in the Clearfield cemetery.

Charles Asa Bailey, son of John H. and Alice Johns Bailey, was born Oct. 1, 1878 at the old homestead in Ringgold County Iowa, where he passed away Jan. 19, 1964, at the age of 85 years, 3 months, and 19 days.

He grew to manhood near Clearfield and on Nov. 28, 1900 was united in marriage to Emma Clayton. They established their home on the old Bailey homestead near the Platte River.

To this union were born 4 children; Opal Stutesman of Diagonal, Merrill and Lee of Clearfield and Ross of Thayer, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his wife Emma and his parents and one sister. He leaves to mourn his daughter Opal, and husband Earl; three sons Merrill and wife Agnes; Ross and wife Mayme; Lee and Esther; and one brother Robert of Diagonal. He leaves 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and many friends.
