Son of Gerrit and Verna Brewer Hillegonds. He married Helen Roe in Grey Eagle, Minn., on Aug. 1, 1939. She died on Feb. 14, 1989, in Illinois. Clarence later married Mabel MacDonald Strong in Melbourne, Fla., on Oct. 14, 1989. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Terry (Judy) Hillegonds and John (Shirley) Hillegonds; one daughter, Jean Hillegonds; one sister, Edith Leland; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Clarence worked for the Harris Corporation in Melbourne, Fla., in the mechanical design department. Prior to that he also worked for Argus Cameras, University of Michigan and Physicists Research Corporation.
