Thomas was born in Wauseon Dec. 14, 1931 to Mildred Thomas and Charles A. Geesey. He graduated from West Unity High School in 1949 and attended Bowling Green State University. He was a POW and earned a Purple Heart in Korea and Army veteran.
He was a member and past Commander of American Legion Post #699 of West Unity, the Bryan VFW #2489, and a life member of the Montpelier Moose Lodge #312, Pilgrim Degree of Merit. He retired in 1995 after 30 years as production manager at Power and Sons and attended St. Paul United Methodist Church.
