"Vera Wickersham died at the home of Geo. E. Pratt in Roseville on Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. She was sick not less than a week and death came after an opration was performed for peritonitis. The death has caused deep sorrow among the many little firends and older acquaintances of the admired child.

"Vera Wickersham was born in Roseville on August 10, 1896 and was nearing her eleventh year. Besides the father and mother there are three brothers and sisters left to mourn and who have the heartfelt sympathy of the community in the bereavement. The brothers and sisters are Bert Wickersham, Mrs. E. G. Willard and Cora Chester and Eva Wickersham of Roseville and Clarence now attending school at Champaign.

"The funeral services were held at the George Pratt home at 11 o'clock yesterday morning conducted by Rev. W. T. Osgood of Des Moines, Ia. The pallbearers were Vern and Max Griffin, Arthur Josephson and Lovell Lieurance." Source: The Monmouth Daily Atlas, Thursday, April 11, 1907, Page 6
