Newton L. Chandler, 83, Arcola Resident, Dies
ARCOLA, Ill. -- Newton L. Chandler, 83, of Arcola, died at 12:15 a.m. Sunday at the Arcola Nursing home where he had been a patient for five years. He was a retired farmer.
Services will be Tuesday and 2 p.m. at the Shrader funeral home, with Rev. Owen Stewart officiating. Burial will be in the Arcola cemetery.
Mr. Chandler was born Oct. 24, 1874, near Bourbon, a son of John M. and Sara Orr Chandler. On Sept. 2, 1896, he married Jennie Cleveland. She died in 1933.
He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Mignon Howrey and Miss Jessie Chandler, bot of Hindsboro.
