Lincoln County resident Melvin Gene "Butch" Ellis, 65, died Saturday, Oct. 21, in Midwest City.
Tribal service: Monday at Edgar Ellis Place.
Graveside service: Tuesday at Sac and Fox Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.
Melvin Gene "Butch" Ellis was born on May 6, 1941, in Cushing, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Saturday, October 21, 2006, in Midwest City, OK, at the age of 65.Melvin, the son of Edgar and Myrtle May (McKinney) Ellis, was a resident of Lincoln County. He was a tribal policeman for the Sac and Fox Nation.Survivors include, Wife, Bridget Ellis, of the home; sons, Frank Hicks, South Dakota, Tyler Hicks, Prague; daughter, Darla Hicks Violette, Prague; brothers, Elvis E. Ellis, Midwest City, Jackson Ellis, Shawnee, Leroy Ellis, Norman, Virgil Ray Ellis, Shawnee; Sisters, Mildred Marceleno, Prague, Peggy Ellis, Meeker, Joyce May Burgess, Wolf, Gloria Jean Ellis, Agra, Lela J. Lopez, Altus, Gail Marez, Prague; and grandchildren, Caleb and Jakeb Violette.
