Deanna Gail Findley, 63, of Shallowater passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on April 24, 1953 in Levelland, Texas, to the late Carl James and Joyce Marie (Daniel) Brattain. She married Johnny Findley, on Aug. 30, 1980, in Mingus, Texas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016 at 10 a.m.at Church on the Rock in Lubbock with Pastor Robert Renteria officiating. Deanna graduated from Coronado High School in 1971, and went on to graduate from Methodist School of Nursing as a Licensed LVN. She attended South Plains College as an adult, studying computer science and technology where she received her Associate's degree as a Computer Technician. While attending she tutored many students in computer technology. Deanna worked for years as a supervisor for South Plains College Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center in Lubbock. She was very involved in the West Texas Native American Association, where she helped arrange and participate in native Indian Pow Wows. Deanna also graduated Church on the Rock's ministry training school and was one of the first volunteers for Adopt a Block that also became the Dream Center in Lubbock. Deanna's favorite past times were reading mystery novels, traveling, camping and fishing, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Findley is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Joyce; and one brother, Carl Walter Brattain. She is survived by her husband of 36 years; Johnny of Shallowater; children, April Marie Metz of Lubbock; Leslie Brown of Olustee, Okla.; Rex Findley Jr. of Livingston, Texas; Brian Findley of Lubbock; and Becky Galloway of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by one brother, William Edward Brattain of Levelland; and one sister, Bitsy Ione Brattain Hobbs of Brownwood, Texas. Mrs. Findley was also blessed with 14 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
