Helen G. Wigger, nee Guenther, 90, of Granite City, Ill., born Dec. 27, 1925, in Granite City, Ill., died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, in Swansea, Ill.Mrs. Wigger retired after 40 years as a cook for Granite City School District 9. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and Bethesda Baptist Church, both in Granite City, Ill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard R. Wigger, whom she married on Nov. 2, 1945; parents, Robert and Bell, nee Trokey, Guenther; siblings, Thelma Lucash, Mildred Dye, Lilburn, Samuel, Ronald, Ray, and Roy Guenther; and great-grandson, Joshua Howard Grady. Surviving are her daughters, Nancy Wigger of Granite City, Ill., Connie Hartman of Granite City, Ill., and Sue Burkhart of Granite City, Ill.; son, Gary (Regina) Wigger of Florissant, Mo.; grandchildren, Amy Rene Wigger of Columbia, Mo., Robin Hartman of Panama, Mo., Crystal Lammert of Granite City, Ill., Jim (Brandy) Burkhart of Granite City, Ill., and Janis (Ron) Brotherton of Little Rock, Ark.; great-grandchildren, Hayden Lammert of Troy, Mo., Zoe, Tyler, and Haze Hartman of Panama, Mo., Brandon and Wyatt Burkhart of Granite City, Ill., Brittany Pinnon of Alton, Ill., and Johnna Gillispie of Hot Springs, Ark.; and great-great-grandchildren, Christian and Aubrie Pinnon of Alton, Ill. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested for Heartland Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
