Boyd Dwight Beck, 57, of Shallowater, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 30, 2016 in Shallowater.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at 5 p.m., at Kingdom Life Fellowship of Lubbock, Texas with Pastor Johnny Davis Officiating.
Visitation will be at Kingdom Life Fellowship on Friday, August 5, 2016, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Boyd was born on January 9, 1959 to Darrell and Nancy Bruce Beck in Lamesa, Texas. He graduated from Lamesa High School in 1977. He married the former Darla Leatherwood on December 3, 1976. He studied at NSU and LSU in 1993 before beginning his 23-year career as an RN.
Recently, he was in the training program to become a chaplain at Covenant Hospital of Lubbock.
He was a licensed minister and served as an assistant minister in several churches in Louisiana and Texas.
Boyd was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Sherry Barron.
He is survived by his wife, Darla of Shallowater; son, Brad Beck of Shallowater; daughter, Stephanie Lanham and husband, Johnathan, of Lubbock; brothers, Bruce Beck and wife, Paula, of Lamesa, and Brian Beck and wife, Betty, of Abilene; sisters, Gail Wampler, Ann Beck and Belinda Beck of Lamesa; granddaughters, Bradlyn and Breiana Hartz; and grandson, Ashton Hartz of Lubbock.
