William was the son of Henry & Sarah Heberling Gorney who were from Pine Grove, Penna. (Father an immigrant of Germany)(Sarah from a line of Pa. Germans who were early pioneers) William was a Mason by trade and worked in the South Bend area.
Per Death record he died of Heat exhaustion or stroke. His death was investigated by county Authorities and died at the County Reformatory in South Bend. William was never married and was 43 years of age when he died. His Brother Manuel (Emanuel) Gorney signed the Death Certificate and was buried where his parents were in City Cemetery in South Bend. (perhaps with his parents!) Nelson Jones was the undertaker and buried July 27th, 1919.
