POTTERSVILLE - Dewey A. Agard, 69, of Stonebridge Road, Pottersville, died Wednesday (June 6, 1979) at his home after a long illness. Mr. Agard was a member of the Pottersville Volunteer Fire Department, and a member and past master of Glendale Lodge 497, Free & Accepted Masons (F & AM) of Pottersville. He was former custodian of Pottersville Central School, and former member of the Pottersville Central School Board of Education. He was employed most recently for 16 years as foreman for the New York State Department of Transportation.
Survivors include his wife Adaline Agard; three sons, Duane and Marvin Agard, both of Pottersville, and Richard Agard of Chestertown; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Andrews of Chestertown; his mother Hattie Agard of Pottersville; a brother, Charles Agard of Pottersville; 13 grandchildren, and several aunts, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ Episcopal Church, Pottersville. Interment will be in the Griswold Cemetery, Pottersville. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, today at the Edward L. Kelly Funeral Home, Schroon Lake. Glendale Lodge 497, F & AM of Pottersville will conduct Masonic services at 7:30 tonight at the funeral home. The Pottersville Volunteer Fire Department will meet at 8 tonight at the Funeral Home.
The family has suggested that memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
