James Asher Lane was married 3 times: Sarah Emmert 1830-1857; Jane Lisenby 1834- 1874 and Sarah Little 1830-1900. He had 15 children. He was the father of my 2nd great grandmother Margaret Jane Lane Long 1861-1933.
He was living near Collins, MO when he died and had been working as a circuit rider minister for local churches. His grave site has not been found but family records have him buried in one of the 6 or 7 cemeteries near Collins. Some of those cemeteries are overgrown, missing stones, etc. His memorial was previously placed in the Freeman-Hopsapple Cemetery, but the Allen Cemetery is more likely and closer to matching family records which place his burial as Collins, MO. Allen Cemetery is on private land but can be seen from Hwy 54, about 1 1/2 miles west of MO Hwy 13.
