MRS. CATHERINE J. MILES DIES HERE AT AGE OF 71

Mrs. Catherine J. Miles, seventy-one years of age, mother of three daughters in this city and a resident of Washington for the last ten years died at her residence, 636 K Street, Northeast, Friday. She had been suffering for some time from a lingering illness due to chronic heart trouble.

The funeral will be held from the residence tomorrow morning at 3:30 o'clock with requiem high mass at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Catholic. Temporary interment will be in a vault in the Mount Olivet cemetery, awaiting removal of the body to Harpers Ferry, her old home, for burial.

Mrs. Miles was the widow of Amos Riggs Miles, a member of an old Maryland family, who made his home at Harpers Ferry for many years. Before her marriage, she was Miss Catherine J. Watkins. She was born in Montgomery County, Md. September 5, 1852.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. A.C. Dufresne, Mrs. Francis The, and Mrs. Henry J. Berens, all of this city; three sons, Joseph Miles and William Miles of Arlington, Va., and Bernard J. Miles of Trenton, N.J.; also twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
