CHILLICOTHE - William "Bill" H. Allington, 94, of Chillicothe died on Sunday afternoon, July 31, 2016, at his home.Bill was born on December 15, 1921, in Chillicothe to Fred and Jessie A. (Topping) Allington. He married Betty J. Sharick on December 23, 1945. She preceded him in death on September 7, 2001.Surviving are his children, Bill (Kathy) Allington of Chillicothe, Sandy (Rick) Snare of Chillicothe and Randy Carson of Florida; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, James (Linda) Allington of Florida and Robert (Mary) Allington of California; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and four sisters.Bill was a carpenter his entire career. He worked for many contractors through the Carpenters Local #237. Bill was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church. He was a Mason, belonging to the George Washington Lodge 222, and a member of the Valley of Peoria Scottish Rite, Martha Washington Eastern Star Chapter 178 and the Mohammad Shriners. Bill was a member of Pearce Community Center, where he participated in many activities.Bill served his country and was a U.S. Army veteran. Afterwards, he joined the VFW Post 4999 in Chillicothe.Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning, August 4, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Pastor Phyllis Sterr will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with Eastern Star and Masonic services following. Burial will be held in the Chillicothe City Cemetery, with military rites.
