Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro. The Rev. Mark Ledoux, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.
Mrs. Harper was a native and resident of Carencro where she was a parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. She retired as a clerk with Slemco after seventeen years of service. Upon retirement, she and her husband enjoyed spending time at their camp in Vermillion Bay with their family and traveling.
Survivors include one son, Earl Harper and his wife, Kim, of Carencro; two daughters, Cheryl Parro and her husband, Ronald, of Charenton and Susan Phillips and her husband, Bradley, of Carencro; nine grandchildren, Shannon Chavez and his wife, Sherry, Lance Chavez and his wife, Judy, Chris Chavez and his wife, Amy, Simon Harper Holgon, Erik Phillips and his fiancée, Mitzy, Joni Phillips Lind and her husband, Sean, Cory Harper and his wife, Elaina, and Ryan Harper and his wife, Brooke, and Lauren Harper Vincent and her husband, Chad; twenty-two great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Logan Prejean of Carencro; and one sister, Velma Harper of Carencro.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Walter H. Harper; her parents, Emick Prejean and the former Lovenia Breaux, both natives of Carencro; one granddaughter, Brandi Chavez; and one sister, Erline Guidry.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.
