Woodrow W. Girton, age 86, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2000, in Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Bloomsberg, PA., February 17, 1914, to the late Perry and Irene (Bogart) Girton. He was retired from the Ford Motor Company in Canton. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses Louisville Congregation. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Girton; two sisters and two brothers. Survived by his wife, Thelma; four daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia Mohr of Delroy, OH., Marilyn and John Browning, Joan and Joe Gonzalez and Janice Blake all of Louisville; five sons and daughters-in-law, Harry Girton of Alliance, Doug and Margaret Girton of Louisville, LeRoy and Frances Blake of East Canton, Bill and Linda Blake of Louisville, Daniel Blake of San Diego, CA; 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Stier-Israel Funeral Home of Louisville with Mr. Don Shook officiating. Friends may call one hour before services at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Burial Park.
