David Cornelius "Neil" McDaniel, the son of John B. McDaniel and Rachel McSwain; husband of Mary Jane Hargraves married on 08 June 1876 in a double ceremony with his brother Jeremiah Jackson McDaniel who married Mary Jane's sister Nancy Rebecca. Known children were Delilah Argenia, Margaret Lucretia, Nancy Susan Elizabeth, Flora Jane, Benjamin L., Alice Adeline, Rachel Rosetta, Appie Charlotta, Ollie Lee Ella, Jennie Mabel, and Sydney Cornelius.

Though the stone has his birth year listed as 1850, entry in a family bible record shows "Neil McDaniel was born June 8, 1854".

Neil McDaniel began his ministry in the little churches of Waresboro County, Ga., and in his later years at the Millwood Baptist Chruch, Millwood, Ga. Neil continued to preach until his passing in 1910.

Neil had grown up as a farmers son, but by trade in Millwood was the village blacksmith.

Headstone is in the McDaniel Family plot next to his wife Mary Jane Hargraves McDaniel, and children Benjamin Lafayette, Lottie, Jennie.
