Kenneth James Jordan 89 years old passed away at his home surrounded by family on July 26, 2016.

He was born March 9, 1927 to Adelbert Russell Jordan and Rhoda Gertude Rawlings in Greely, Colorado. He was placed in the Colorado State Orphanage for Dependent Children in Denver, Colorado at the age of 3 years old. He was taken from the orphanage at the age of 12 years old, by and raised by his foster parents Ottis and Libby Kirkbride of Colorado Springs in 1939.

Kenneth joined the Merchant Marines at a young age, by giving a false birthdate, which very many men did in those times. He married his best friend Patricia Lee Olson on June 9, 1948; she was the granddaughter of Otis and Libby. He work at Gates Rubber Company for 30 years and retired with his wife Patty in 1984, and moved to their vacation/dream home full time, in the small town of Pitkin, Colorado where they lived for as long as their health had allowed.

Kenney enjoyed fishing, carpentry, and turning lamps. He was a jack of many trades. He was always willing to help out family, friends, and neighbors any time he could from helping with fixing plumbing or putting a roof on a home, even little things like taking a friend to the store or a doctors appointment. He was loved by all who knew him, and many enjoyed his sense of humor constantly laughing at his jokes. He was a member of the Masonic Brotherhood Lodge in Thornton, Colorado. He will be missed by all who knew him. Kenney is preceded in death by both sets of his parents, brothers, sisters, his daughter-in-law, and granddaughter.

He is survived by his best friend of 77 years, and wife of 68 years Patricia Lee Olson their daughters Wendy Sue (Donald) Masten, Judith Elaine (Chuck) Fuller, Patricia Kirk (Steve) Hill, and their son Kenneth James (Jackie) Jordan II. Grandchildren Lance (Libby), Shelly, Julie (Josh), Todd (Lorie), Jill (Jason), Kimberley (Alex), Heather (Eric), Steven (Shannon), Kendra, Julia, Shane (Erin), 27 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
