Betty Louise Krumeich, of Glen Carbon, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon. She was 86 years of age and a member of New Bethel Church in Glen Carbon for 57 years. Betty was born March 16, 1930 in Detroit, MI and lived in Joliet, IL as a young child. She attended school in Granite City, IL and graduated from Granite City High School in 1948. She excelled academically in school, but her passion was music. Betty was a member of the Granite City High School Band and earned All-State Honors as a clarinetist. After graduation, she attended Brown's Business College in St. Louis where she met her future husband, Dee Krumeich. They were married February 25, 1951. She was employed at Brown's Shoes, Inc. in St. Louis and was a 25 year employee of the law firm Reed, Armstrong, Gorman, and Coffey in Edwardsville. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Dee Krumeich, parents Harold and Rebecca Parish, brother Norman Parish, brother-in-law Fred Simon, sister-in-law Jean Claire Simon and nephew Brent Simon. She is survived by her sister Evelyn Cross and husband Charley of Granite City; sons: Jeffrey Krumeich and wife Lynn of Charlotte, NC and Rev. Jay Krumeich and wife Rev. Holly Wood of Belleville, IL; four grandchildren: Shane Krumeich and wife Mai of Tokyo, Japan, KC Krumeich and wife Kelsey of Liberty Twp., OH, Dr. Morgan Krumeich and husband Pete Rymshaw of Bowie, MD, and Kady Heard and husband Troy of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren: Julia and Issei Krumeich of Tokyo and Ellie, Camille, and Collette Krumeich of Liberty Twp, OH; a niece: Stacey Luber and husband Chris of Collinsville; a nephew: Dane Simon of Maryville; a grandnephew: Jordan Luber; and a grandniece: Courtney Luber. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Bethel United Methodist Church in Glen Carbon. Friends may call from 4p.m. to 8p.m. Sunday, July 31 at Irwin Chapel in Glen Carbon and from 10-11 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2016 at New Bethel Church, Glen Carbon, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Monday, August 1, at New Bethel Church, Glen Carbon, IL, with the Rev. Jay Krumeich officiating. Interment will be in Glen Carbon Cemetery.
