One of the things she did, was write lots of letters. I have so many letters she wrote. She mentioned all of the children and told specific cute stories about our childhood. I love the way she always referred to me as her sweet Lora Viola. Grama Crain was a big believer in homeopathic rememdies in some of her letters she writes out different herbs to take for different ailments. I remember when we would get sick she would put vicks on our throats and wrap a wool sock around our neck.I hated the itch of the wool, but sure loved the attention and her sweet affection.
Myrtle Crane passed away from natural causes. In some of her letters, right before she passed away, she writes that she wants to take care of the children, but feels so sick. All of us would spend days and nights on end with her. She loved having us. She spoiled us all with love and kindness. I remember before she died she was "pretending" to be riding her horse like when she was a teenager. This saved all of us kids from the saddness and fear; she loved her horse and it was as if she was riding off into heaven. This was a very joyful and peaceful way for us to learn not to be afraid. I remember going in and seeing her before she died. I really don't know if she was "pretending" or God just blessed her passing to be happy, either way, it was nice way to leave this place and go home. I will know when I see her again in Heaven.
