Marriage of Gerard — Way.

Shelbina, Mo., Dec. 1. — Dr. Edward Gerard , prominent physician of Leonard, this county, and Miss Edna Way were married last night at th home of the brides parents, near this city.

MRS. E. N. GERARD DEAD
Mrs. Edna Way Gerard, wife of Dr. E. N. Gerard, of Leonard, died in a Kansas City hospital, Tues day afternoon, of last week, after an operation for gall stones. At first it seemed the operation was successful and she would soon recover, but the grim reaper was not to bo denied. She had been in ill health many months.
Deceased was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Way, of Shelbyville. She was born May 1st, 1870, and spent most of her life until her marriage on a farm just west of Shelbina.
Her husband was with her in her last hours, but her little son and father did not reach Kansas City before her death.
Since her marriage she has lived in Leonard where her husband had settled and built up a practice. She was a woman of most excellent traits of character and will be missed much by a large circle of friends.
She leaves besides her husband and son, Way, three sisters, and her father and mother.
Furneral services were held in Shelbina, Friday morning at 10 :30 from the residence of Miss Belle Ford, and conducted by Rev. W. C. Maggart, of Leonard. Interment was in the family lot in the city cemetery.

Death of Mrs. E. N. Gerard.
Mrs. Edna Way Gerard, of Leonard, aged about 43 years, died at a hospital in Kansas City Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock, following an operation. She had been in poor health for several years, and had been in Kansas City under treatment for the past two months. Her husband was with her when death came, but she passed away before her son and her father reached Kansas City, they having started at 9:23 from Shelbina that morning in response to a message from the doctor.
Deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Way, of Shelbyville, and was reared in this city. She was a most lovable lady and and had many friends here that will be grieved to hear of her death. Since her marriage to Dr. Gerard they have made their home in Leonard, where the Doctor has a splendid practice and the deceased has numerous friends. Besides her husband she is survived by one son, Way, 9 years old, her father and mother and three sisters.
The body was brought here Wednesday and taken to the home of Miss Belle Ford, and the funeral services will be held at the M. E. C. S. in this city this (Friday) morning, conducted by Rev. W. C. Maggart, of Leonard. Burial in the Shelbina cemetery.
