According to his obituary in the September 6, 1974 New York Times, Hubbell Robinson had worked for two major advertising agencies on radio programming before joining CBS in 1947 as Executive VP. He left the network in 1959, established his own production company, returned briefly to CBS, and later worked for ABC for a few years.
He was born in 1905 in Schenectady, NY to Hubbell and Marcia Robinson, attended Phillips Exeter Academy and graduated from Brown University in 1927. He was married three times: to Therese Lewis, a writer; to Margaret Whiting, a popular singer; and to Vivienne Segal, best known as a star of musical comedies on Broadway.
