Black River, Feb. 12 - William James Argy, 74, retired paper mill superintendent, died at 5:50 p.m. Friday at his home, 166 Maple Street. He had been in failing health since October. He underwent surgery in September 1964.
Funeral arrangements are with the Clark funeral home. The body will be taken to the family residence where friends may call this evening and Sunday afternoon and evening. The funeral will be Monday, with a prayer service at the home at 10:30 a.m., followed by a solemn high requiem mass in St. Paul's Catholic Church, celebrated by his son, Rt. Rev. Msgr. William J Argy, pastor of St Joseph's church, Malone. Burial will be in Black River Cemetery.
Surviving are: His wife, Mrs. Marcelline A. Burns Argy; his son; three daughters, Mrs. John (Mary Agnes) Hogan, Niagara Falls; Rev. Mother Mary Pascal, O.S.U.(Margaret Argy), supervisor of St. Angeles convent, Bronx, of the Ursuline order of sisters; and Sister Mary
William, S.S.J., (Sally Ann Argy) a teacher at Immaculate Heart Central High School, Watertown; a brother Edward P. Argy, Niagara Falls; a sister, Sister Mary Pascal, St. Jerome convent, Batavia; five grandchildren; two half-brothers, Michael and Charles Argy, and three half-sisters, Mrs. Catherine Cronin, Mrs. William Kennedy and Mrs. John Kramer, all of Niagara Falls.
A son Richard T. Argy died Sept. 26, 1959.
