Per the U.S. census records, Nellie (Wood) Bishop/Pickett was born in May 1871 (1875 census 4 years old and 1880 census 9 years old), in the Town of Stamford, Delaware County, N.Y., the daughter of a shoe maker, Zachary Taylor Wood and Mary Smith. She had two younger siblings, Samuel Wood (1874-?) and David R. Wood (1877-?). She married Edward Bishop (1867-1930) in 1885 at the age of 14 and by 1900 they had several children - Martin, Charles, Clara, Bertie, and Leon. She later married a Mr. Pickett. She died June 21, 1924.
