Cora Luella Beer of 542 N. 7th St. passed away Friday at 9:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Hospital at the age of 88 years, 4 months, 17 days. She was born Dec 31, 1873, on a farm near Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of George and Mary Ann Holloway Long. She married James Edward Beer on Jan. 14, 1900, and to this union three children were born who survive her passing: Mrs. James Felkner of Centerville, Route 3; Joe Beer of Centerville, Route 3; and Lloyd Beer of Big Timber, Montana. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Roy Scott of Centerville, Ia., and Mrs. Frank Beltz of St. Petersburg, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband Aug. 8, 1947, her parents and 7 brothers. Mrs. Beer was a long-time and active member of the Jerome Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Jerome Methodist Church with Rev. George McMullen officiating and burial in the Jerome Cemetery. The family requests that flowers please be omitted and memorials be given and can be left with Rev. McMullen or the Johnson Funeral Home.
