Mrs. Rebecca Ann Gosney, 87, died Thursday at a local hospital. She was a native of Kentucky and resided at 401 St. Helens Ave. She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Shelton and had been in Tacoma 34 years. She was the widow of Coleman Gosney. She leaves sons, Lawrence L. of Richmond, Ill; Thurman W. and Earl C. of Tacoma; brother, Browder D. Brown of Tacoma; four grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral Saturday at 1 p.m. at the C.C. Mellinger Chapel. Rev. W. T. Turner officiating burial at Tacoma Cemetery. (The Tacoma News Tribune, 3 June 1944)
