Doris Gail Clark, aged 78 departed this life to be with her Lord on Saturday July 23, 2016 at her ranch home in Menard, Texas.

Doris was born June 18, 1938 in Junction, Texas to Thelma and Charlie Bishop.

Her surviving family members include her daughter, Gay Lynn Merrick and husband Jim of Kerrville, daughter Kari Carwile and husband Randy of Menard, granddaughters Heather Land and husband Ryan of Alexandria, VA, Heidi Killeen and husband Joe of Kerrville, TX, and Holly Meyer and husband Jonathan of Kerrville, TX. grandson Shay Carwile and wife Chelsea of Leander, TX, great-grandchildren, Case, Merrick, and Cash Land of Alexandria, VA., and Isla Meyer of Kerrville, TX and many loved nieces, nephews and their families.

Preceding her in death is her husband Buel W. Clark, parents Charles Lee Bishop and Thelma Ellen Kelly-Bishop, brothers Charles, Donald and Gordon Bishop and sister, Thelma Faye Wood.

In 1954 she married Buel W. Clark and in the early 1960's they moved to "the ranch" where they began their journey to raise the best fine wool rams and show lambs in the country. Together, they did just that and left a legacy that will go on for many years to come. Doris loved managing "the ranch" and continued to do so until she was no longer able. She loved the children and young people who came to the ranch to purchase show lambs and many of them became lifelong friends. She was a strong supporter of the 4-H club and the values and responsibility that it passed on to the young people. Doris thoroughly enjoyed her family, which were a great source of pride and joy for her. Her family and her friends will deeply miss her.

Doris's life will be celebrated at The First Baptist Church of Menard on Wednesday July 27th at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. Jeffrey Hutchison officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family would like to recognize and thank Richard Garcia for 30+ years of dedication to Doris and Buel, and Doris's sweet caregiver friends; Connie Deanda, Olivia Perez, and Omega Guana, and Briana Perez, who lovingly and selflessly helped care for her.
