Nancy Roselle Bacchus Lingscheit Colvin was born September 24, 1919, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Leslie J. Bacchus and Lucinda Lane Bacchus. She died January 16, 2015, in McMinnville, Oregon. In 1934, the Bacchus family of seven moved to Cottage Grove, Oregon, and to McMinnville soon after, where Nancy attended high school and later graduated from Laurelwood Academy in 1938. Nancy married Bernard Max Lingscheit, also of McMinnville, on November 17, 1939. One daughter, Saundra Joan, was born July 22, 1941. The family lived in McMinnville and also Sheridan and later moved to Pasco, Washington, where Max homesteaded and then farmed and Nancy worked for a utility company for many years. Saundra died March 14, 1958, and Max died February 28, 1980. Nancy returned to McMinnville and married Chuck Colvin February 8, 1982. They enjoyed traveling together, and especially time with their family and friends. Nancy is survived by her sister, Myra Hoffman of Gaston, Oregon; stepchildren, Marsha Paterson and Mike Colvin of McMinnville, Oregon, and Carolyn Nelson; six step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015, in the McMinnville Seventh-day Adventist Church.
