Wadsworth Carr was born January 21, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri to Velma Lee Carr and M L Coleman. He was the seventh child of thirteen children. He was preceded in death by his parents, younger brother, Adrian Leon Moore and two old sisters, Rema Mae Owens and Willa Mae Poston.

He confessed his faith in Christ at an early age. He often spoke of becoming a minister and completed several Christian Foundation classes for which he received certificates. His mother would refer to him as, my son, "the preacher". He was a member of Middle Tree Church in St. Louis, Missouri under the leadership of Pastor Brian Schmidgall.

Wadsworth enjoyed his job of 25 years at the Cheshire Inn in Clayton, Missouri. He performed many duties while working there. He was a reliable and very dependable worker. His bosses could always count on him to get the job done. Rain, hail, sleet or snow, Wadsworth was always ready to go. He retired from the Cheshire in 2005.

He enjoyed listening to the soulful sounds of music, particularly, "jazz and R&B." In his earlier years, he was a DJ at the 525 Club in St. Louis, Missouri. Wadsworth possessed a vibrant personality and a love for fashion and style, especially, "suits." He was affectionately known throughout his community as the "Suit Man", (with a briefcase).

Wadsworth departed this life on Friday, June 10, 2016, peacefully in the comfort of his home. He leaves to cherish his memory: His ex-wife and good friend, Dorothy Carr; six sisters, Velma Moody, The Honorable Congresswoman, Maxine Waters (Sidney), Samella Bolden, Dr. Kimberly Moore, Sharon Frison (Stan), and Raye Evelyn Moore; and sister-in-law, Dorthouga Carr; three brothers, Remus Carr, Joseph Webb, and Reginald Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
