She was the granddaughter of John Philip Bachman, the noted organ builder. She graduated from Linden Hall, Cum Laude, in 1877. She was organist for the Sunday School and sang in the choir. She taught piano lessons for the last 35 years of her life. In her final
years, she lived at the Moravian Home. Her husband died in 1892 and was buried in Pittsburgh.
