Mrs. Irene Brown Mellon,49,of 9805 Holly, a former area teacher, died Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital. Mrs. Mellon was a second grade teacher at the Bristol Elementary School five years before she retired. She graduated in 1952 from Central Missouri State University, where she received her degree in education. She was a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority. She was a member of the Christ the King Catholic Church, Kansas City, and the Alter Society there. She was born in Trinidad, Colo., and lived in this area most of her life. She leaves two sons, Michael Brown and Louis J. Brown, and two daughters Miss Nancy Brown and Miss Sandy Mellon, all of the home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pecoraro, 7533 Baltimore; a brother, Anthony Pecoraro, 9910 Holly; and three sisters, Mrs. Vivian Braun, 7531 Baltimore; Mrs. Annabell Sweeney, 9727 Aberdeen, Leawood; and Mrs. Joette Turner, 4219 E. 104th. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church; burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at the McGilley Midtown Chapel, where friends may callafter 4 p.m.
