Pioneer Farmer Dies
Glasgow, Mont.--H.L. Dillard, one of the first farmers to locate in Valley county and one of the first to demonstrate successful farming without irrigation, died Feb. 4 at the ranch home of his son, John L. Dillard, 12 miles east of Glasgow. Death was due to age and paralysis and declining health. Some months ago he suffered an attack of the dread paralysis, which rendered him unable to talk and caused the rapid decline of his health. He had been poorly for some years but until last year he was found to be demonstrating the wonderful resources of this part of the state in producing all kinds of vegetables and garden truck, which excited much admiration.
