Lonnie Gene Blackwell, 74 of Anderson, passed away July 15, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born July 10, 1942, to the late George and Ruby Blackwell.
He is survived by his daughter, Renee S. Layher of Nashville, Tenn.; grandson, Oliver H. Layher of Nashville, Tenn.
Lonnie served his country in the United States Navy in the Vietnam Era. When returning from Vietnam, Lonnie continued fighting for the rights of all War veterans. It was his life and passion. His burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery next to his beloved parents.
