He was one of 14 children of Nathan Nichols,Jr.and Sarah Thomas His father died in Loudoun Co. Va. in 1827. He came to Morrow Co. Ohio with his mother and several of the children. His mother is buried in Old Mt. Gilead Presbyterian Cem. Name spelled Nickols.
George married 1st to Julann K. Bradfield 28 Sept. 1828 in Loudoun Co. Virginia together they had 9 children all total he was the father of 16 children.
By Athanissa he had 7 children unknown where Joel Nichols b. Nov.21 1850 and John Nichols b. Feb. 24,1851.
