Martha Lea Gruber, 75, of Mansfield, passed away Wednesday morning, July 20, 2016, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born July 24, 1940, in West Virginia, to Jennings H. and Mishie (Cochran) Cox.

Martha had worked as a cashier at Lowe’s, Children’s Place and Fischer’s Big Boy, and at Hartman Electric. She took pride in keeping her home neat as a pin with everything in it’s place. She enjoyed completing puzzles, and her favorite pastime was fishing, enjoying the company of family and quiet peace of nature.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Gruber; children, Kathy Dyer, Stephen Gibson, Kenny Gibson and Deakila Stickney; nine grandchildren; two step grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two step daughters, Heather Gruber and Jessica Goff. She is also survived by a sister, Shirlene Burke; a brother, Bill Flanagan; two step sisters, Fedora Celami and Joe Rae Hvezdos; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Jennings H. Cox; mother and step father, Mishie and Ray Flanagan.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2016, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. O.Douglas Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
