Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Hall and Iva Heyward Hall Gillian, one brother Ray Hall, two sisters, Florine Chitty (Lester) and Eunice Ernest (John Robert), sister-in-law Carol Jean Hall and one nephew, Ken Chitty.
Mr. Hall was a life long resident of Aiken County and of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by his wife Betty J. Hall, daughter Denise Hall King (Len) - stepdaughter Veronica Buckingham (Steve) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL - stepsons, Robert Strickland, Richard Doyle (Michelle), Donald Doyle (Bobbie Jean), Daniel Doyle – brother, Bobby Hall - niece, Sandra Burnett (Dan), nephews, Tommy Satcher (Jennifer), Terry Ernest, Sr. (Diane), Dwight Hall (Susan), Charles Hall (Kim), Timothy Hall(Tippy), and Mike Chitty. Grandchildren, Scott King (Krystal), Brian Doyle, Jennifer Kehoe (Alli) and Derrick Doyle. Great Grandson, Kason King.
Mr. Hall was employed at Clearwater Finishing Plant for 33 plus years prior to its closing. In 1988 he signed on as a contract hauler for The Augusta Chronicle for approximately 15 years. Not ready for retirement he took a part time position for Aiken County as one of their drop site attendants where he enjoyed meeting with the public and making new friends.
In his younger days, Mr. Hall enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, playing and singing country music and loved listening to real Southern Gospel. Another hobby was tinkering with and restoring old cars. One of his prize possessions was his 52 Chevy that he enjoyed entering in car shows and visiting with fellow auto club members. He never met a stranger that he couldn't strike up a conversation with.
If he could speak now, he would want to thank his loving family, all his friends and good neighbors for their prayers, cards and visits during his illness.
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC.
